April Marie Mai is an artist and educator who graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2005 with a BFA in Painting. She utilizes a variety of media to create playful and colorful abstract pieces which sometimes address taboo topics, or her identity as a queer person. Her work has been shown at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and she was a 2016-2017 Midwest Jewish Artists Lab Fellow.
